Desde su creación, la revista Paradigma ha venido promoviendo diversos mecanismos que permitan consolidar vínculos estrechos de cooperación en investigación en el área de ingeniería de software. En esta edición, además de presentar algunos trabajos de investigación muy interesantes, se presenta una entrevista acerca del campo de acción para investigadores en Sistemas y Computación en Colombia. Por otro lado, se actualizó la sección de testimonios con las experiencias de 3 estudiantes quienes están realizando sus estudios de maestría y doctorado en el exterior.

Esta octava edición ofrece una sección especial presentando un panorama general acerca del mercado laboral existente en Colombia para investigadores con título de doctorado. Por tal motivo, decidimos presentar las opiniones de algunos investigadores que recientemente finalizaron sus estudios de doctorado.

 

1. Dario Correal is an Assistant Professor in the Systems and Computing Engineering department of the niversity of Los Andes. He has a Ph.D. degree in the Software Construction Research Group (Ticsw), Department of Systems and Computing Engineering, University of Los Andes. He run his own Software Development Company between 1996 and 2004. He worked as Instructor professor at University of Los Andes from 1996 to 1998. Between 1994 and 1996 he developed terrestrial navigation software and vehicle tracking systems based on GPS and Wireless communication technologies. In 1994, he obtained his Master's degree from the University of Los Andes. In 1992 he earned my B.S. in Systems and Computing Engineering from the same University.

2. Daniel Benavides has a Ph.D. degree from the Ecole des Mines de Nantes. He has been referee at the European Conference of Object Oriented programming (ECOOP) 2008. He is member of the council of Laboratoire Informatique de Nantes Atlantique (LINA, UMR CNRS 6241).  He worked in the  Aspects for Toll Systems (ATOLL)  project between OBASCO group at Ecole des Mines Nantes and Siemens R&D, Munich.

   Hugo Arboleda obtuvo los titulos de Doctor en Ingeniería de la Universidad de Los Andes y Doctor en Informática de la Universidad de Nantes (Francia). Obtuvo su MSc. en Ingeniería de Sistemas y Computación de la Universidad de los Andes en el 2004 , es Ingeniero de Sistemas de la Universidad del Valle. Actualmente se desempeña como Profesor Asociado en la Universidad Icesi, en la bella ciudad de Cali.

4. Alexis Ocampo received his Phd degree in Informatics from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern in 2008, his Masters degree in Systems Engineering and Computation from Los Andes University, Colombia, in 1999 and his title as Systems Engineer from the Industrial University of Santander, Colombia, in 1997. Since July 2009 Alexis Ocampo joined Ecopetrol as leader of the Architecture Group and advisor for the Software Factory. He worked from 2002 until 2009 as a research scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in the Department of Processes and Measurement. Before that, he worked for 5 years as a research developer on new technologies and methodologies with the software company Heinsohn Associates, Bogotá Colombia. He also worked as an instructor at the University of Los Andes in the Department of Systems and Computation. Alexis Ocampo’s research interests in software engineering include: (1) modeling and measurement of software processes and resulting products, (2) software quality assurance and control, (3) technology transfer methods,  (4) rationale modeling, (5) model evolution, (6) model variability, and (7) software process lines. Results of this research are documented in more than 30 publications in international journals, book chapters, and conferences.
